The medical staff in Sibiu was informed about labour risks

The National Research and Development Institute for Labour Protection, along with representatives of the Labour Inspectorate of Sibiu (ITMS), held Monday, February 18, a meeting with representatives of the medical staff from Sibiu to inform them about the prevention of work accidents in the medical field.

The awareness campaign on occupational risks for workers in this field aims at increasing the efficiency and level of health and safety in order to ensure their access to a modern labor market.

"The today meeting in Sibiu is held to discuss occupational health and safety issues in the medical field. It is a POSDRU project [...] on occupational safety and health dedicated to the medical staff. We chose the medical field because it is a very important sector, with high risks, an area where it is still much to be done", the General Director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety Research and Development, Dr. Ing Ionel Iorga said.

From 2007 until 2012, in Sibiu were recorded five cases of occupational diseases, most of them at the Sibiu Emergency Hospital and City Hospital Medias. In the medical field were also recorded seven cases of work accidents that caused temporary disability.
